Instructor Training
The Clubhouse Academy x Active IQ
NOW LIVE
The Clubhouse Academy is our mat Pilates instructor training programme and one of the few dedicated teacher training pathways in the North East of England.
-
Led by Maisie, this is a comprehensive Level 3 Mat Pilates programme for aspiring Pilates instructors who want more than a certificate. Covering Classical and Contemporary mat Pilates technique and repertoire, intelligent programming, client communication, cueing, and community-led teaching, every element is rooted in The Clubhouse Method.
You'll graduate with the skills to lead a room with confidence, understanding not just the exercises, but how to read a class, connect with your clients, adapt for different bodies, and create an experience people keep coming back to. You’ll find out who you are as an instructor!
This is for people who want to teach with intention and heart. Not just deliver a workout.
Course Dates & Structure
Founding Membership pre-sale open now through Friday 11 September 2026
Once you join, you'll begin with self-paced pre-learning — anatomy, physiology, health & safety, and the principles of Pilates — ahead of your in-person training days.
In-person training:
Weekend 1: Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th October 2026
Weekend 2: Saturday 7th – Sunday 8th November 2026
Assessment Day: Saturday 5th or Sunday 6th December 2026
If you are unable to attend 1 or more of the in-person training days or assessment day please get in touch, not the end of the world, we will make it work!
Weekend 1 — Foundations & Classical Technique
Day 1: Induction; alignment, breathing, centring in practice; classical mat repertoire (foundational exercises); teaching positions and basic cueing.
Day 2: Continuing repertoire into intermediate/advanced exercises; contemporary adaptations; first practice-teaching in pairs; intro to structuring a class.
Weekend 2 — Programming, Instructing & Finding Your Voice
Day 3: Client interviews and group profiles; building a full class plan — objectives, timings, progressions; real-life modifications for the bodies actually in front of you (injuries, pregnancy, older adults, bad days).
Day 4: Discovering yourself as an instructor — working with flow rather than just sequence, how to read and hold a room, projecting presence without losing warmth, adapting on the fly when a plan doesn't land. Full mock teaching sessions built around this, with peer and tutor feedback. Close with a run-through of assessment day expectations.
Assessment Day: Summative observed session, pass or defer, then self-evaluation and feedback.
You'll be registered with Active IQ within 24 hours after joining and receive your learning materials.
